The courses will be delivered by known researchers of the field like Antonacopoulos, LLados, Lopresti, etc. covering both theoretical and practical aspects of real problems of Document Image Processing, as well as examples of successful applications. The Summer School registration (400 Euro) will cover attendance, proceedings, accommodation, dinners, coffee breaks, social events and transfer from Samos airport and back, while all the paper will be published in the proceedings and made free avaiable on line. Extended versions of the accepted papers will be considered for publication in ELCVIA Journal - Electronic Letters in Computer Vision and Image Analysis, taking into account the reviewers' comments and feedback from the summer school. Thanks to our Sponsors, 10 students of the field that will submit paper by the deadline and their papers will be accepted, will be chosen (by the review score) to pay reduced registration (300 euros). Four participants will receive scholarships that will cover the registration fee. The fellows will be selected according to their performance in the School. Moreover, awards will be given to the best oral and poster presentations. A camera-captured scene image undergoes different kinds of degradations such as motion blur, strong illumination, shading, glossy, sheer or slant. Variations like emboss, depth, engraved, multi-colored, multi-font, curvy, artistic or hand-written might be inherent. The purpose of Multi-script Robust Reading Competition (MRRC) is to understand the performance of systems designed to handle multiple scripts in a scene image. Participating systems will be separately evaluated based on the sub-tasks i.e., Text localization task, Text segmentation task and Word recognition task.
