========== Message from the Editor =========================================

Welcome to the September edition of our TC-11 newsletter. Two weeks ago
I attended ICFHR 2012, which was held near Bari in Apulia, Italy. The
organizers put together an interesting scientific program. Furthermore,
participants could enjoy several social events and various musical
performances during the conference, which makes ICFHR 2012 the most musical
one of all ICFHR conferences to date.

In Bari also the venue for ICFHR 2016 was decided. It will be organized by
Chen-Lin Liu and Youbin Chen in Shenzen, China.

The next ICFHR conference - ICFHR 2014 - will be organized in two years from
now by Basilis Gatos and colleagues in Crete, Greece.

The 15th International Conference on Frontiers of Handwriting Recognition
(ICFHR 2016) will be held in Shenzhen, China, on October 24-16, 2016. Dr.
Cheng-Lin Liu (Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Dr.
Youbin Chen (Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University), will serve the
general chairs.

ICFHR will be organized in Crete island, Greece, in September 2014

The 14th International Conference on Frontiers in Handwriting
Recognition (ICFHR 2014) will be held in Crete island, Greece, in
September 2014. It will be organized by Basilis Gatos (National Center
for Scientific Research "Demokritos" - Institute of Informatics
and Telecommunications, Greece), Vassilis Katsouros ("Athena" Research
and Innovation Center - Institute for Language and Speech Processing,
Greece) and Ioannis Pratikakis (Democritus University of Thrace -
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Greece).
