Dear TC-11 member,



* I have asked the ICPR organizers whether a meeting room

  can be arranged on Monday, 18:00h-19:00h, for TC-11. The 

  number of persons will be limited (first come/first served). 

  This meeting may be useful to summarize the state of 

  the system resulting from both the meeting at IWFHR and 

  the TC Chairs meeting, as well as providing an 

  opportunity to address additional topics. 



* Simon Lucas pointed out to me that he is working on a 

  competition event at ICDAR'2003 concerning the comparison of 

  algorithms using his Algoval approach. A preliminary site can

  be found on the web: 

     http://ace.essex.ac.uk/algoval/icdar/competitions.html

  There is a discussion list in order to converge on the

  details of the competition. Envisaged categories are:

  Robust Reading, Robust Word Recognition, Robust Character

  Recognition and Text Locating. Please look at it now,

  since there is still some time to finetune your

  algorithms if you want to join!
